Scale-Up Hygiene Project Phase II: Civil Society Organisation supports the conduct of "Infection Prevention And Control in The Health Care Settings" workshop for Health Care Workers

It was an interestingly educative atmosphere at a workshop organized for primary health care providers within Ibadan metropolis. The workshop which took place at Deebabs Ventures Conference Room, College Crescent, Molete Area on Friday in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, was organized by La Vie Mot Global Mission aka Living Word Mission (LIWOM).

The programme titled, "Infection Prevention & Control in the Health Care Settings" which has countless health practitioners from different medical centres within the state in attendance as participants was supported by WaterAid Nigeria and Oyo State Government through the Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (Oyo RUWASSA).

In her remark, the facilitator, Mrs. Titilope Akinleye of the Oyo state disease surveillance and notification office said that, "it's essential to prevent the spread of pandemic, epidemic or other dangerous diseases and when not preventable, it should be detected and reported immediately for necessary treatment. " She further stressed that, "the best way to prevent the pandemic is by usage of standardized preventive materials. As we all know that the protection of individuals, by extension is the entire community's protection" he said.

According to LIWOM country lead, Marcus Williams, "it is critically pertinent to organize a training like this for our health workers in other to save their own lives first and by implication save more lives; it is basically to step up our health worker's knowledge to be abreast with global best practice for optimal service delivery".

William finally thanked all the participants and urged them to make good use of the invaluable empowerment they have obtained through the workshop as they go back to their various places of work.

Mr. Adegoke of the Oyo RUWASSA mentioned that this was a good step in the right direction knowing that the recently finalized M&E Framework would be used to assess the performance of the state water sector policy as developed.

Observation:

1.      The Training participants came as expected and exceeded the number

2.      The participants were happy and freely talked about the HWFs in their facilities

3.      The facilitators were adequate for the sessions

Challenges:

1.      There was no challenge to the conduct of this activity

Recommendations:

1.    The training should be done quarterly to keep the health care workers abreast of current trend

2.   WANG should ensure that routine support for such activities is sustained even though project is to close out.

Closing:

The 2-days training closed out beautifully well and participants were appreciative for the training.

FEB 2025 PRAYER REQUESTS

While enjoying conversation with a beloved brother this week, we briefly talked about the massive shifts taking place in North America. And I was struck once again by the miraculous sovereign working of our Almighty God.     Between Light and Darkness We are living in unprecedented times of change in both the spiritual and natural realms. As Christ-followers, it is important that we clearly see the absolute difference – and unbridgeable division – between that which serves and promotes light, and that which is enslaved and in bondage to darkness. God will use this clearer and higher perspective to help direct His Church to realize both what we are  becoming  and what we are then  to do  to fulfill our God-given mission in these days. The changes we see happening in the natural realm are significant, but they...
